Locksmith robbed at gun point in Manatee County

MANATEE -- Two men robbed a locksmith at gunpoint after calling him out claiming they needed their vehicle unlocked, according to the Manatee Sheriff's Office.

The locksmith was responding to a call at an arranged location in the back parking lot of the Fountain Lake Apartments, according to a news release.

He meet the two men and when he went to grab his tools so he could open their vehicle, one of the suspects pulled out a chrome 9mm Beretta and demanded the locksmith's money. The suspect with the gun took the locksmith's wallet containing $1,400.00. Meanwhile the other suspect opened his trunk and stole approximately $500 worth of tools.
