A Fort Hamer bridge essential to mobility, emergency services

August 17, 2013

I am 100 percent for building the Fort Hamer bridge. I lived in Parrish for nine years. I just moved to the other side of the river, which is much more convenient for everything I do in life. I would have stayed in Parrish if they had the bridge I was told they would build nine years ago.

My thoughts to the people who say it will do no good or hardly be used:

Rye Road is not an alternative. This is the road that has always been open and is miles out of the way for where the bridge is proposed to be.

The Hamer bridge is a true connection to the thousands of people who live on both sides of the river and for the emergency service issues it will help. There is and has been a great need for this bridge for many years.

I can't figure out why it hasn't been done yet, and hope for all the people, including myself, it will finally get built.
