Gettel teams with Days of Hope to help school kids

Pam Hawn founded of the Days of Hope program five years ago. She was concerned how she was going to get her own kids ready for back to school herself, and thought that other parents were in the same situation. The first year she served 200 kids, and this year 1,239 kids. The children are given a back pack full of school supplies, a supply of health care items such as shampoo, sunscreen, combs, brush, body wash, dental checkup, health checkup, haircuts, shoes (Payless gift certificate $25), Bealls (uniforms gift certificates). The hair cuts, dental, health are all free to the kids and professionals from our community donate their time to these kids. The Gettel Automotive Group was so impressed with her pilgrimage that they offered to be a drop off location at all of their Bradenton and Sarasota stores. Above is collection of supplies Gettel employees donated to the drive. For more information, visit
