Bradenton Salvation Army pantry closed for lack of supplies

BRADENTON — The Salvation Army pantry is closed until further notice, due to a shortage of donations and food at its complex, 1204 14th St. W.

Wednesday was the last day patrons could receive food.

“Sadly we are just out,” said Julia Showers, program director/business administrator. “Our shelves are empty.”

The annual Fall Food Drive is expected to generate enough food to restock the shelves for most of the upcoming year.

More than 200 families usually receive food from the pantry each month.
