New LongHorn opens in Florida with design changes

Orlando SentinelAugust 13, 2013

A new LongHorn Steakhouse that opened Monday in Sanford has new features that might be used in the chain's future restaurants.

The exterior has been changed to better match revisions made inside, spokeswoman Erica Jaeger said. It includes a larger entryway with timber columns, and a waiting area around a fire pit. Inside, there is a fireplace.

The restaurants is across from Seminole Towne Center mall. A second Central Florida LongHorn with similar features will open early next year on International Drive, in the I-Shops development.

Both are considered tests of the new design. Like other LongHorns, the new one in Sanford has 6,300 square feet and seats 240. LongHorn is owned by Orlando-based Darden Restaurants.
