August 12, 2013

— MANATEE — A perceived delay in the amount of time it took a girlfriend to make a man a sandwich apparently led to domestic violence.

The incident occurred at 7 p.m. Sunday in the 2500 block of 15th Street E., according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.

Authorities allege Daniel Klehn, 61, of the 3600 block of 20th Street E., tired of waiting for the sandwich and started to call the victim names. Klehn allegedly grabbed the victim by the hair and began punching the back of her head.

He reportedly threw the victim into a wall before opening the door to the home and pushing her outside. Once outside, Klehn allegedly threw the victim to the concrete before returning inside and locking the door.

Then victim then walked down the street and called 911.

Klehn was arrested Sunday and charged with battery. He remained in the Manatee County jail Monday subject to a $1,500 bond, according to the sheriff’s office website.
