Flooding closes State Road 64 in Myakka City

MANATEE -- State Road 64 in Myakka City is closed because of high water over the highway, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The National Weather Service said the Manatee River near Myakka Head will exceed flood stage later Wednesday morning because of recent heavy rains.

At 8 a.m., the river was at 10.4 feet; flood stage is 10.9 feet, according to the Weather Service.
