Faces in business: Cimar Argote

August 7, 2013

Title: Assistant Vice President, Branch Manager

Company: Urban Trust Bank

What was the best business advice you ever received?

Never to give up and always look for opportunities and when challenges come up work to overcome that in a positive way.

If you could choose another profession, what would it be?

Restaurant entrepreneur. I used to own pizza restaurants and it's still a passion of mine.

What's the biggest risk you have taken in your career?

When I started in the food industry in the 1980s it was prosperous but the trend of it and the markets changed and I started seeing big competition coming into town. That competition challenge was the start to change careers. My biggest risk was to give up the restaurants and look for alternatives. I started my position with this bank as a teller, although I knew I was going to grow in this field.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you start?

Bolivia. I'd revisit Oruro, a mountain village in the Andes region and La Paz, it's capital, That's where my roots are. Bolivia is incredibly beautiful.
