Indonesian tsunami proves public safety value of mangroves

August 3, 2013

Apparently the developers of Long Bar Pointe never heard of the tsunami that occurred in Indonesia.

Developers in Indonesia removed mangroves from the shore to establish shrimping activities. Those villages were wiped out and nearly everyone was killed. Nearby villages where the mangroves were still in place lost only a few lives.

We must hold developers in hazardous zones totally responsible for any disasters that occur in these areas!
