August 2, 2013

SARASOTA -- A 25-year-old man has been charged with cooking methamphetamine after his mother discovered he was manufacturing the drug, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.

The investigation began last month after his mother found Sean Flavell cooking meth in the garage of their Sarasota home.

"Flavell fled the scene before deputies arrived and discovered he was using a one-pot method to manufacture significant quantities of the drug," the report states.

Detectives continued with their investigation and determine that Flavell had bought a large amount of a key ingredient to make methamphetamine. They also determined that fingerprints found on bottles belonged to Flavell.

Detectives located Flavell on Thursday, and he was arrested by Manatee County Sheriff's Office deputies in the 5600 block of Juel Gill Road.

Flavell is charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and manufacturing methamphetamine and is being held in the Manatee County jail on $27,500 bond.
