Weather alert: Showers, storms possible Friday in Bradenton

MANATEE -- The typical summertime weather pattern -- heat, humidity and a chance of afternoon thunderstorms -- has become routine in Bradenton.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies, with a high near 90. The chance of rain is 40 percent, with the best chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m.

Friday night, the chance of scattered showers and storms drops to 30 percent, mainly before 2 a.m. Skies should be mostly cloudy, with a low around 75.

Similar conditions are forecast throughout the weekend.
