Bradenton Marauders fall 5-1 to Dunedin Blue Jays at McKechnie Field

The Bradenton Marauders (15-25) fell 5-1 in the series finale against the Dunedin Blue Jays (16-22) on Thursday night at McKechnie Field. The Jays took three of four in the series and won six of the eight meetings between the teams this season. Zack Dodson (L, 4-8) started strong for the Marauders, holding Dunedin off the scoreboard until there were two outs in the fourth. With two outs and the bases empty, two Dunedin singles, a walk, and two more singles staked the Jays to a 3-0 lead. Dodson finished the inning, but did not return for the fifth. Dunedin extended the lead to 5-0 with runs in the fifth and sixth innings against Tyler Waldron. Zac Fuesser pitched the final three innings scoreless for the Marauders. Fuesser struck out three. Five Dunedin pitchers held the Marauders to five hits in the game. Dan Gamache doubled for the 29th time this season in the ninth and was singled home by Jose Osuna to break up the shutout. Dayton Marze (W, 1-1) pitched 2 1/3 innings to earn the win out of the pen. Starter John Anderson pitched 2 2/3 innings. Marze was followed by Blake McFarland for one inning, Justin Jackson for two frames, and Wil Browning pitched the ninth.
