Weather alert: More showers, storms possible Thursday in Bradenton

MANATEE -- Scattered showers and thunderstorms are again possible Thursday afternoon in Bradenton, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters are calling for partly sunny skies, with a high near 90 -- and heat index values approaching 97. Light and variable winds will become west-southwesterly at 5 to 9 mph in the morning. The chance of rain is 40 percent, mainly betweek 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., according to the Weather Service.

Thursday night, the chance of rain drops to 10 percent. Skies will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 75, according to forecasters.
