Manasota India Festival coming to Bradenton

India Festival planned

BRADENTON -- The Manasota India Festivalwill be held from noon to8 p.m. Aug. 10, accordingto Anish Patel, eventvice chairman, and Dr.Snehal Parikh, event spokesman.

Sponsors includeManatee Memorial Hospital, Kumon, HancockBank, Honda of Bradenton, First America Bank, Florida Cancer Center and Tropicana.

An estimated 4,000 visitors are expected for the event.

2 Sarasota officerspass advanced training

FORT LAUDERDALE -- Sarasota Police Department Lt. James Rieser and Sgt. Bryan Graham have graduated from the Southern Police Institute in Fort Lauderdale, a division of the Department of Justice Administration, College of Arts and Sciences, University of Louisville.

SPI is an advanced education and training institute for the professional development of law enforcement.

"I attended the course last year and can attest the curriculum is tough and being away from work and family for so long was a challenge, but it was worth it in the end," said Support Service Bureau Capt. Corinne Stannish.
