Hit-and-run driver strikes in Manatee

— The Florida Highway Patorl is looking for a hit-and-run driver involved in a 2 p.m. accident Monday at the intersection of Lake Osprey Drive and University Parkway.

FHP reports a 71-year-old female victim from Zephyrhills driving a 2013 Honda Accord northbound on Lake Osprey Drive was approaching State Road 610 (University Parkway) in the outside left turn lane when a red Hyundai Sonata with Florida tag DFB1Y driven by an older white female with short dark hair bumped into the victim's vehicle and left the scene.

No one was injured.

The hit-and-run driver continued northbound on Market Street. Anyone who many have witnessed this crash or has knowledge as to the identity or the location of the hit-and-run driver or vehicle is asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol at 239-938-1800 and ask for investigator Trooper Ernest Verdecia.
