PALMETTO — A 20-year-old man shot multiple times outside a Palmetto home more than two weeks ago has died, according to the Palmetto Police Department.

Matthew Arguez, of Bradenton, was shot on July 8 while standing in front of a home in the 300 block of 14th Street West.

Arguez had been at Blake Medical Center in critical condition since the shooting.

Detectives say they think Arguez was shot by one of at least two occupants of a white vehicle, possibly a Ford Aerostar or a similar small van, according to the report.

Palmetto Police and the Manatee County Homicide Task Force have been investigating the shooting since it occurred.

This is the seventh homicide in Manatee County this year.
