A Long Bar Pointe project approval merits dismissal of Manatee County commissioners

July 25, 2013

Even though I don't have a dog in this fight, not being a resident of that end of Bradenton or a pro development huckster, I would like to make one observation and give one piece of advice.

The one observation being that if our county commissioners change the land use rules for this one project, they will have to do it for other developers or face costly litigation for denying those other developers. Once you open this can of worms, it's hard to put the lid back on.

The one piece of advice is if they agree to the change, come next election throw them out. Griping will not stop them. Voting them out will.
