July 22, 2013

MANATEE -- A 15-year-old boy was arrested after a deputy caught them while they were burglarizing a Bradenton residence, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 9:40 p.m. Sunday, a deputy responded to a report of a possible burglary in progress in the 900 block of 51st Avenue Plaza West. When he arrived he found three people in the carport area of the home, according to a news release.

The deputy announced himself, and two of the people ran, while the 15-year-old complied, according to the report.

"After detaining the defendant, it was discovered that a brick had been tossed through a window to gain access to the residence. The residence was ransacked and a flat panel TV was missing from the entertainment center," the report states.

Deputies located the television ditched near the house, according to the sheriff's office.

The other two suspects were not located.
