July 19, 2013

SARASOTA -- Sarasota police have released a composite sketch of a man investigators say exposed himself to children at a Lido Key resort.

The grandmother of the two girls told police that the children were playing ping pong in the game room of the Limetree Beach Resort, 1050 Benjamin Franklin Drive, about 4 p.m. Sunday when the man came in, exposed himself and cursed at the girls, the report states.

About 5:40 p.m., someone reported to police that several people were chasing a possible suspect east towards Ted Sperling Park.

Police established a perimeter but were unable to find the man.

The victims described the suspect as being in his late 20s or early 30s, standing about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and being thin. He has facial hair and was wearing a black baseball cap, no shirt and black or blue flowery swim trunks, police said.

Police on Friday said three witnesses came forward recently and "provided excellent information for the composite.
