Weather alert: Afternoon storms likely in Bradenton on Friday

MANATEE -- Afternoon showers and thunderstorms are again likely in Bradenton on Friday.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly cloudy skies, with a high near 89 and south-southwesterly winds of 6 to 9 mph. The chance of rain is 60 percent, mainly after 1 p.m.

Friday night, the chance of continued showers and storms drops to 30 percent. Skies will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 73.

The chance of rain lessens for Saturday and Sunday, according to the Weather Service.
