Bradenton police: Teens say man solicited them for sex

July 18, 2013

BRADENTON -- Bradenton police are investigating a report that man tried to solicit two teenagers for sex Wednesday afternoon.

About 3:43 p.m., the teenagers, a 17-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man, said they were approached in the 1900 block of 18th Street West by a man in his mid-50s who "asked them if they wanted to make some money laying carpet.

"The conversation then turned to the subject wanting to perform a sex act for money with the two boys," a report states.

The teens told the man to leave, which he did, but he did provide them with his cell phone number, police said.

The report was forwarded to a detective for further investigation, according to police.
