Gunmen steal purse in Bradenton home invasion

July 18, 2013

BRADENTON -- Two gunmen forced their way into a Bradenton home late Wednesday and took the victim's purse, according to Bradenton police.

The home invasion robbery happened at 11:54 p.m. in the 2000 block of St. George Drive.

A police dog was brought in to search for the suspect, but nothing was located. Crime scene technicians did lift shoe prints from the scene, according to a report.

About an hour later, officers searching for the suspects came across a vehicle parked in 2100 block of Second Avenue East. There were three people in charged.

Officers determined they were not involved in the home invasion, but they did find a bag of marijuana and two loaded guns. The driver admitted the drugs were his, and he was arrested.

The other two people could be charged later, police said.
