Palmetto thrower Christina Atkinson headed to King University in Bristol, Tenn.

Recent Palmetto High graduate Christina Atkinson, bottom center, recently signed a national letter of intent to join the King University track and field team. King University is an NCAA Division II college in Bristol, Tenn. Pictured with Atkinson are, bottom row from left, mother Dawn Atkinson and father and Palmetto assistant throwing coach Chris Atkinson and, top row, Palmetto assistant coach Roderick Martin and Palmetto head coach Robert Kelly. Atkinson qualified for the state track and field meet as a junior and advanced to the state weightlifting meet as a senior. She also played two seasons of basketball at Palmetto.
