Weather alert: Showers, storms possible Wednesday in Bradenton

MANATEE -- There is a 50-50 chance of more afternoon showers and thunderstorms in Bradenton on Wednesday.

The National Weather Service is calling for partly sunny skies, with a high near 91 -- and heat index values that will make it feel more like 97. Winds will be from the east at about 10 to 15 mph, with gusts reaching as high as 21 mph.

The chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms is 50 percent, mainly after 1 p.m., according to the Weather Service.

Wednesday night, the chance of rain drops to 30 percent, mainly before midnight. Skies will be mostly cloudy and the expected low is around 72.
