Sheriff: Man stabbed in Bradenton after he refuses request for money to buy drugs

A 47-year-old homeless man was stabbed by a woman Monday afternoon after he refused her request for money to buy crack cocaine, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 4:50 p.m., the woman approached the man in the 200 block of 55th Avenue West, Bradenton, and asked the man for money. When he refused, the woman stabbed him, according to a news release.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The woman was described as being about 35 years old, with black hair. She was wearing a white shirt and dark pants, according to the report.
