MANATEE -- A Manatee man was arrested for video recording a woman in the bathroom, according to the Manatee Sheriff's Office.

Arnoldo Carvazos Martinez, 54, was arrested at 4 p.m. Tuesday and charged with video voyeurism, according to an arrest report.

The woman was in the bathroom Tuesday when she looked up at the vent in the ceiling and noticed a small camera.

She pulled the camera out and found where it was plugged into an extension cord in the attic. She then called police.

Martinez was called out of work.

"Martinez admitted that he placed the camera in the vent in order to view ... tattoos and report them back to her mother," the arrest report said.

Martinez signed a consent to allow deputies to search the home for any video recording. The search uncovered several cameras and storage cards in the bedroom.

Martinez also admitted to deputies that he knew his actions were illegal but wanted to wanted evidence to prove the woman had tattoos in her pelvic area.

Deputies said they believe that Martinez set up the camera without permission in the bathroom where the woman "has a reasonable expectation of privacy and she was exposed." It is also believed he did so for his own personal gratification.

Martinez was released from Manatee County Jail on a $1,500 bond.
