Weather alert: Showers, storms possible Thursday in Bradenton

MANATEE -- Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible through most of Thursday in Bradenton, according to the National Weather Service.

During storms on Wednesday evening, a funnel cloud was reported near Interstate 75 in Palmetto shortly before 6 p.m.

The chance of rain Thursday is 40 percent, mainly between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Otherwise, skies will be partly sunny, with a high near 89 and south-southeasterly winds of 6 to 9 mph becoming west-southwesterly in the afternoon.

Thursday night, skies will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 75.

The Weather Service said there is 20 percent chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms before 8 p.m. and again after 2 a.m.
