Bradenton hospital welcomes 30 medical school grads from around U.S.

BRADENTON -- A "White Coat" ceremony for the2013-14 osteopathic residents and interns was held recently in Manatee Memorial Hospital's Tower Auditorium.

The new medical school graduates from around the country will spend their three-year residency program at Manatee Memorial in family practice medicine or internal medicine.

The traditional rotating interns will be here for one year.

"Manatee Memorial Hospital and the medical staff welcome the residents and interns," said Kevin DiLallo, group vice president, Universal Health Services Inc., and chief executive officer, Manatee Healthcare System. "We hope that some, if not all, will stay in the community after they have finished their programs and make Manatee County their home."

Residents and interns will work under the guidance of experienced physicians as they treat patients in the hospital as well as in doctors' offices.

Catherine Cooper, D.O., director of medical education, will supervise the residency program. Program directors include John Peters, D.O., for internal medicine, and Ronald Grubb, D.O., for family practice medicine.

The 30 osteopathic residents and interns are:
