Fourth Manatee hit-and-run reported Monday

July 8, 2013 

— The Florida Highway Patrol reported the fourth hit-and-run accident of the day in Manatee County occurred just before 8 p.m. Monday on 15th Street East just north of State Road 70.

Trooper Barbara Ehrhart reported a black Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by a heavyset female with black hair and brown eyes was northbound on 15th Street East when it collided with a 1993 Mercury Cougar at a stop light driven by a 49-year-old Bradenton woman carrying a 28-year-old Ellenton man, 16-year-old Bradenton woman and 38-year-old Bradenton woman as passengers.

FHP reported all four in the stricken car were wearing seat belts and sustained minor injuries.

FHP reported the second vehicle fled through a parking lot in the 1500 block of 53rd Avenue East.

Anyone who witnessed this crash or has any knowledge as to the identity or location of the hit-and-run driver or vehicle is asked to contact FHP at 239-938-1800.
