Florida Highway Patrol investigating injury, hit-and-run crashes in Bradenton

MANATEE -- Florida Highway Patrol was investigating several traffic crashes on Bradenton's rain-slicked streets Monday.

According to the FHP website, injuries were reported in at least two of the crashes: A crash at the intersection of Cortez Road and 20th Street West, reported at 11:41 a.m.; and a crash at 14th Street West and Orlando Avenue reported at 12:06 p.m.

Troopers were also investigating three hit-and-run crashes: On 26th Street West at 53rd Avenue West; on 24th Street Court West at 57th Avenue West; and on 57th Avenue West at 22nd Street West, according to the website.

Here are other crashes FHP was investigating Monday afternoon:

-- Separate crashes on U.S. 301 in Ellenton, at 18th Street East and at 60th Avenue East.

-- State Road 70 at Uihlein Road in Lakewood Ranch.

-- U.S. 301 at First Street in Bradenton.

-- 53rd Avenue East, as Fifth Street Court East, Bradenton, which was reported at 3:45 p.m. FHP said part of the road was blocked.

Additional details on the accidents were not immediately available.
