Manatee motorcyclist injured in U.S. 41 crash

MANATEE -- A crash involving a motorcycle in the 6900 block of U.S. Highway 41 at 3:47 p.m. Friday sent an 18-year-old Bradenton man to Blake Medical Center with serious injuries.

The victim, who was driving a Suzuki motorcycle and was wearing a helmet, was going south on U.S. 41 in the left lane, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

At the same time, a Ford driven by Everett L. Gresiak of Bradenton was pulling out of a driveway at 6916 U.S. 41.

As Gresiak attempted to turn left onto northbound U.S. 41, he failed to yield right of way to the motorcyclist, the report states.

The motorcyclist turned to the left to try to avoid a collision but the front right of the Ford struck the motorcycle's right side, according to the report.

The motorcyclist was ejected, the report indicates.

The motorcycle continued traveling south into another driveway where it struck a 2000 Dodge driven by a 42-year-old Bradenton man.

Gresiak was charged with violation of right of way from a driveway, the report concludes.
