Bradenton men injured in early-morning one-car crash

BRADENTON -- Two young Bradenton men were seriously injured in a crash early Thursday along the Sarasota-Manatee border, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

The crash occurred around 4:30 a.m., the FHP reported. The driver, 22, and his passenger, 21, were taken to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton with serious injuries.

The men were in a 1998 Chrysler Sebring driving westbound in the left lane. As they neared the interesection of Country Park Way, the car veered into the median and hit a tree.

The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle, the report stated. The passenger was wearing a seatbelt.

No charges have been filed.
