FOURTH OF JULY EVENTS

Bradenton Marauders' Game and Independence Day Concert: McKechnie Field, 1611 Ninth St. W., Bradenton

The Bradenton Marauders will hold a patriotic celebration to honor America 6:30 p.m. July 2 featuring a pre-game ceremony recognizing World War II veterans, an after game live concert by country music star David Nail and fireworks. The Marauders will play the game in red, white and blue jerseys which will be available for auction during the game. Winning bidders will be invited onto the field after the game. Tickets: $6 and up. Suncoast Offshore Grand Prix: various locations, Sarasota

JULY 2: "A Nautical Night of Giving" Fundraiser, 6-10 p.m. featuring food stations, open bar, valet parking, select auction items and liver entertainment, at Sarasota Yacht Club, 1100 John Ringling Blvd., Sarasota; $125.

JULY 3: The "Fleming's Fan Fest" with local race teams 5-8 p.m. featuring live entertainment by Joey Lavallee and The Groove Hounds at Fleming's Steak House, 2001 Siesta Dr., Sarasota; admission free.

JULY 4: A special Independence Day Firework show at dusk, with viewing along Sarasota Bayfront Park.

JULY 5-6: Powerboats by the Bay display noon-5 p.m. July 5 and 10 a.m.-8 p.m. July 6 featuring live entertainment and food vendors at Centennial Park, 10th and U.S. 41; free.

JULY 5: Festival Parade of Boats and "Boats by the Bay" Downtown Block along Main Street, 5 p.m.-midnight. Parade begins at 7 p.m. Food and beverage vendors and live entertainment.

JULY 6: "Meet and Greet Who's in the Drivers Seat" reception, 10 a.m.-noon featuring participating race teams and special guests at the Hyatt Regency, 1000 Blvd. of the Arts, Sarasota; $5 adults, children ages 12 and younger are admitted free.

JULY 6: "Finz Finds Scenic Bounty Ride" with registration at 9:30 a.m. at Jennette Properties, 5899 Whitfield Ave., Sarasota.

JULY 6: "Miss Super Boat Grand Prix" Bikini Contest, 3-4:30 p.m. at Centennial Park.

JULY 6: "Pre-Race" Party and Fashion Show, 6-11 p.m. at Hyatt Regency; $15.

JULY 7: The annual Suncoast Super Boat Grand Prix Boat Race will be held in two heats, 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., off Lido Beach between New Pass and Big Pass.

Chiles Restaurant Group's Independence Day Celebration: various locations, Manatee County

The Chiles Restaurant Group will host its annual Fireworks Extravaganza July 3 at the BeachHouse Restaurant, 200 Gulf Dr. N., Bradenton Beach; and July 4 at the Sandbar Restaurant, 100 Spring Ave, Anna Maria. The event is free and open to the public. Seating and parking is available on a first--come, first-served basis. VIP Party packages are available for the July 3 and July 4 celebrations and include specialty beverages, parking passes, front row seating and a buffet-style dinner. Anna Maria Island Privateers Fourth of July Parade: Coquina Beach and Bayfront Park

The Anna Maria Island Privateers will hold their annual Fourth of July Parade starting at 10 a.m. at Coquina Beach and travels the entire length of Anna Maria Island to Bayfront Park. There will be an after-parade gathering noon-4 p.m. at the Cafe on the Beach, 4000 Gulf Dr., Holmes Beach featuring live music. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Palmetto's annual July 4th Concert and Fireworks: Lamb and Sutton Park, 1006 Sixth St. W., Palmetto

The Village People, now in their 36th year of celebrating the glitzy, campy lifestyle of the late 1970s, are headlining this year's Fourth of July Celebration in Sutton Park. They'll be joined by the Guess Who, the Canadian rockers who steadily inhabited the charts and the airwaves in the 1960s and '70s with such hits as "No Sugar Tonight" and "American Woman." The festivities, which include offerings from local vendors and which culminate in a fireworks display, get under way at 5 p.m. Admission is free. There will be craft vendors. Selby Gardens "Tropical Fourth of July": Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, 900 S. Palm Ave. Sarasota

Celebrate America's birthday in a tropical setting beginning 6 p.m. July 4. Guests can enjoy a variety of outdoor fare and refreshments for purchase and join activities for kids of all ages. Live music will be provided by Impulse. Guests are encouraged to bring folding chairs and lawn blankets for prime firework viewing. Coolers are not permitted. Annual Fourth of July Fireworks and pig roast: Pier 22, 1200 First Ave. W., Bradenton

Bring the entire family for the most awesome waterfront Fourth of July party in town and Rock-the-River with live music 6-10 p.m. July 4. The event features a pig roast and fireworks right after dark. Cost: $49.95 adults, $14.95 children ages 11 and younger. Reservations are required. Sail Pavilion Fourth of July Weekend Celebration: 333 S. Franklin St., Tampa

Sail Pavilion will be celebration the Fourth of July with a long weekend of fun and excitement 11 a.m.-8 p.m. July 4 and July 6 with live entertainment and Red Bull Wake Open practice sessions, and 11 a.m.-9 p.m. July 5 with live entertainment, food trucks and Red Bull Wake Open followed by fireworks. The Red Bull Wake Open features 36 riders from seven countries competing in a variety of wakeboarding and watersport events. Information: 813-373-1193.
