The film in set in the notorious "Old Main Prison" of the New Mexico State Penitentiary and tells the story of Aaron Roberts, a single father arrested following an incident that claims the life of a woman. He is convicted and his daughter becomes a ward of the State. An attorney represents the daughter in an innovative and emotionally compelling case against the State. Bradenton Marauders' Game and Independence Day Concert: McKechnie Field, 1611 Ninth St. W., Bradenton

The Bradenton Marauders will hold a patriotic celebration to honor America 6:30 p.m. July 2 featuring a pre-game ceremony recognizing World War II veterans, an after game live concert by country music star David Nail and fireworks. Independence Day Celebration: various locations, Manatee County

The Chiles Restaurant Group will host its annual Fireworks Extravaganza shortly after dark July 2 at Mar Vista Dockside Restaurant, 760 Broadway St., Longboat Key, July 3 at the BeachHouse Restaurant, 200 Gulf Dr. N., Bradenton Beach, and July 4 at the Sandbar Restaurant, 100 Spring Ave, Anna Maria. The Anna Maria Island Privateers will hold their annual Fourth of July Parade starting at 10 a.m. at Coquina Beach and travels the entire length of Anna Mria Island to Bay Front Park. There will be an after parade gathering noon-4 p.m. at the Cafe on the Beach 4000 Gulf Dr., Holmes Beach featuring live music. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. July Fourth Concert and Fireworks: Lamb and Sutton Park, 1006 Sixth St. W., Palmetto

Sail Pavilion Fourth of July Weekend Celebration: 333 S. Franklin St., Tampa

Sail Pavilion will be celebration the Fourth of July with a long weekend of fun and excitement 11 a.m.-8 p.m. July 4 and July 6 with live entertainment and Red Bull Wake Open practice sessions, and 11 a.m.-9 p.m. July 5 with live entertainment, food trucks and Red Bull Wake Open followed by fireworks. Take a dive into a world of fish, alligators, turtles, and herons with songs, games, stories and exciting hands-on exhibits during the Manatee County Natural Resources Department's "Summer Learning: Life on the River," 11 a.m.-noon July 24.
