Sarasota adult store robbery suspect arrested in Ohio

Herald staff reportJune 25, 2013

The suspect who robbed Adult Pursuits in the 3400 block of 17th Street in Sarasota last week is in custody in Ohio on a Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrest warrant.

Shortly after the crime occurred June 18, detectives identified Ernest Krause as the armed man who entered the business, attempted to tie up the clerk and fled the scene with an undetermined amount of cash and merchandise.

Detectives later received a phone call from Washington County, Ohio, with information about Krause, who told friends there he was taking a bus to Ohio because he had “done something real bad” in Sarasota. Washington County officials arrested Krause today.

Krause is charged with two counts of robbery with a firearm and one count of false imprisonment.

Krause was the same man arrested in January for the New Year’s Eve armed robbery of the Pizza Hut just a couple blocks from from Adult Pursuits.
