Long Bar Pointe developer championed conservation

June 23, 2013

I would like to comment on the proposed Long Bar Pointe marina project. One of the people driving this plan, Medallion Homes owner and president Carlos Beruff, claimed to have an active role with the Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast in a December 2012 article in SCENE Magazine. He champions their purpose.

According to the foundation's website, that purpose is: "to work with local landowners and regional government to protect and preserve the bays, beaches and barrier islands that define the character and ecology of our region."

I thought mangroves and seagrass defined our character and ecology. Apparently that is not everyone's definition.
