Man injured in two-car crash in Manatee


LAKEWOOD RANCH -- A 52-year-old Merritt Island man was taken to a local hospital Saturday after a collision on State Road 70, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The man was heading southbound on Greenbrooke Boulevard approaching S.R. 70 when he failed to yield the right of way to traffic, investigators said.

A second vehicle driven by a Clearwater man heading westbound on State Road 70 collided with the front right side of the Merritt Island man's vehicle.

The first driver was taken to Lakewood Ranch Medical Center with minor injuires and was charged with failure to yield right of way. No one else was injured, the FHP said.
