Verizon expands its 4G LTE service in Manatee County

June 20, 2013

Verizon Wireless activated 61 new 4G LTE cell sites throughout the Tampa Bay region during May to reinforce the company's wireless technology for area customers.

The new cell sites in Manatee, Sarasota. Citrus, DeSoto, Hernando, Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties enhance existing 4G LTE service for some areas, and expand the technology to others. Most of the new 4G LTE sites were placed on existing towers and other facilities.

Verizon 4G LTE was launched in Tampa Bay in December 2010 and the company is on schedule to cover its entire Florida network footprint with 4G LTE before the end of this year.

Frank Wise, network executive director for Verizon Wireless Florida said the expansion allows the company maintain a competitive advantage and to satisfy customers.
