Weather alert: Showers, storms possible Thursday in Bradenton

MANATEE -- Scattered showers and thunderstorms are again possible in Bradenton on Thursday.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies, with a high near 90 -- and heat index values as high as 97. Calm winds will become south-southeasterly at 5 to 7 mph.

The chance of rain is 40 percent, mainly after 11 a.m.

Thursday night, skies will be mostly cloudy, with a 20 percent chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms, according to the Weather Service.
