Weather alert: More showers, storms possible in Bradenton on Wednesday

MANATEE -- Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible in the Bradenton area throughout the day and into the evening Wednesday.

The National Weather Service says a "very moist southwest wind flow will support scattered showers and thunderstorms along coastal locations" Wednesday morning.

"Additional showers and thunderstorms will develop along the west coast sea breeze from mid to late morning," the Weather Service said.

Storms will intensify over inland locations during the afternoon and evening, according to the forecast.

The chance of rain is 40 percent.

Otherwise, the Weather Service is calling for partly sunny skies and high of 90 -- and heat index values as high as 98.

Winds will be from the south at 5 to 8 mph.

Wednesday night, skies will be partly cloudy, with a low around 77. The chance of rain in the evening drops to 20 percent.
