Sheriff: Bradenton man stabbed in chest during argument with girlfriend

June 19, 2013

MANATEE -- A man was stabbed in the chest during an argument with his girlfriend in Bradenton early Wednesday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to the area of the 4900 block of 21st Way E. about 1 a.m. after the man made a trespass complaint, according to a news release.

The deputies saw the man had a minor stab wound to the chest. He told them that about two to three hours earlier, his girlfriend, Tamara Dubois, had pulled a pocket knife and that "he walked into the knife" during an argument, according to the release.

"However, the evidence did not support this," the report states.

The woman had fled the area earlier, according to the sheriff's office, but she was arrested later and charged with domestic aggravated battery. She was being held without bond at the Manatee County jail.

The victim was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
