With tongue in cheek, I would like to address the current political climate.
As a former high school coach, I learned early on that if our game plan was not working, we had better try something else, and pronto.
In contrast, one of our political parties has been using the same game plan for five years to no avail. That is, blocking our president's agenda in order to make him seem ineffective.
This is not to say that we should not hold our government responsible for its actions. That is not only the right, but also the duty of every citizen in a democracy. But at least do it judiciously.
Needless to say, the game plan does not seem to be doing what it was intended to do. That was the clear message of the last presidential election.
You can well understand that as a coach, I had very little use for "Monday morning quarterbacks," but I am going to assume that role. I would suggest a game change: Instead of the same old, same old, listen to the American people! The American people are not interested in gossip; the American people are interested in jobs that pay a living wage. Pay attention.
On the other hand it may be that blocking this president is the party's "thing." At least it seems that way. In that case, I would say go for it. Enjoy three more years of the same old game plan and revel in the anticipation of attacking Hillary for eight years.
