Weather alert: A hot Tuesday for Bradenton

MANATEE -- Isolated showers and thunderstorms may help cool off an otherwise steamy Tuesday for Bradenton.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies, with a high near 91 -- and heat index values as high as 99. Southeasterly winds of 6 to 13 mph will become southwesterly in the afternoon and could gust as high as 18 mph.

Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible between noon and 2 p.m., according to the Weather Service. The chance of rain is 20 percent.

Tuesday night, skies will be partly cloudy with a low around 76.
