SCF names Jakway VP of business
BRADENTON -- Julie Jakway has been named vice president of business and administrative services at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota, announced SCF President Carol Probstfeld.
"Her knowledge of Florida's unique higher education system will allow her to start contributing at SCF without missing a step," Probstfeld said.
Jakway will be responsible for overseeing human resources, facilities, finance, financial aid, information technology services, businesses services and public safety. She will start her new position Aug. 1.
Jakway was at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg as regional assistant vice chancellor for financial services since 2007. As a member of USF St. Petersburg's leadership team, Jakway provided financial management and control services for an institution with an annual budget of $77 million and 6,000 students.
During her career, Jakway was facilities planning administrator at the University of Kentucky, associate dean for administration at the UK College of Dentistry, business officer for the University of Kentucky Community College System and dean of business affairs at Owensboro Community and Technical College in Kentucky.
Jakway earned a master's degree in public administration and a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Kentucky and has completed coursework toward a Ph.D. in higher education administration at the University of South Florida.
Jakway received additional training at the Harvard University Institute for Education Management, National Association of College Stores Bookstore Management Institute, the National Association of College and University Business Officers College Business Management Institute and the Association of Physical Plant Administrators Facilities Management Institute.
Reception for Windsor of Lakewood Ranch director
