— A 29-year-old woman who told authorities she is living in Bradenton as a transient is in Manatee County jail on a charge of disfiguring another woman by tearing off part of her lip with punches to the face.

Stefanie Clarke, born in Ohio, faces a charge of aggravated battery after she allegedly punched the victim three times in the face with a closed fist, according to a Bradenton Police Department report.

The attack occurred at 1200 Fourth Street West, Bradenton, at 8:20 a.m. Wednesday, according to the report. The victim received stitches in her mouth.

The attack began shortly after the victim was asked by a friend to give a person she didn’t know a ride home, she told police. The person was later identified as Anthony Ricardo Barber Jr.

Police believe Barber forced the victim to drive him to various houses in Bradenton and made her wait by taking her keys.

At one house, Barber reportedly came running out being chased by another male shooting a gun. Barber then allegedly made the victim pick up Clarke, who attacked her when the victim tried to call 911.

Clarke is being held in lieu of $7,600 in bond, according to the sheriff’s office website. Barber is also in custody in lieu of $500 bond on a battery charge.
