State College to design new Bradenton academic building

May 29, 2013

— The State College of Florida approved Wednesday a proposal to design a new academic building at SCF Bradenton and renovate the Student Services Building at SCF Venice.

The Manatee-Sarasota District Board of Trustees approved a contract with Williamson Dacar Associates for professional design services for a new academic building at the Bradenton campus. The new 36,000-square-foot academic building will replace some of the oldest buildings on the campus and be completed by the fall 2014 semester.

The SCF Venice project will include a remodeled main lobby and offices in admissions, financial aid, testing, student records, cashiering, the disability resource center and the provost’s office. It is expected to be completed in the fall semester.

The board scheduled a budget workshop for 5:30 p.m. June 4 at SCF Lakewood Ranch. The next regular meeting is at 5:30 p.m. June 25 at SCF Bradenton.
