Weather alert: Showers, storms possible Wednesday in Bradenton

MANATEE -- Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop across the Tampa Bay region on Wednesday afternoon and into the evening, according to the National Weather Service.

For Bradenton, forecasters are calling for mostly sunny skies, with a high near 88 and east-southeasterly winds of 5 to 9 mph becoming west-southwesterly in the afternoon. The chance of rain -- in the form of isolated showers and thunderstorms -- is 20 percent, according to the Weather Service.

Wednesday evening, skies will be partly cloudy, with a low around 68.
