Bones found on 75th Street West in Bradenton are from animal

May 20, 2013

MANATEE -- An array of bones discovered by a woman taking out her garbage in the 3900 block of 75th Street West were determined Monday to be the remains of an animal.

The woman called authorities at 8:13 p.m. Sunday after she saw what appeared to be several small bones making up a vertebrae scattered on the ground in front of the Dumpster, according to a Manatee County Sheriff's Office report.

The crime investigation division, which sent crime scene personnel to the scene, analyzed the bones and determined they were not human, said Dave Bristow, a sheriff's office spokesman.
