FHP seeks drivers who don't buckle up

Herald staff reportMay 19, 2013

— The Florida Highway Patrol “Click it or Ticket” enforcement campaign will continue it through June 3 in conjunction with the Memorial Day Holiday period, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

The Florida Highway Patrol will team with law enforcement agencies in unincorporated Manatee County, Anna Maria Island, Longboat Key, Bradenton, Sarasota and Palmetto to look for seat belt violations.

“There will undoubtably be increased travel on our roadways for the holiday period and our goal here is to save lives,” the report states.

Buckling their seat belts could save their own lives and an expensive citation for a seat-belt violation, FHP said in a release.
