Manatee man crashes into sheriff's unit

— A motorist who allegedly did not have a valid Florida driver’s license crashed into a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office deputy’s marked unit Saturday night.

Fidel Reyes, 20, was driving in the 900 block of 15th Street East at 10:30 p.m. Saturday when he crashed head-on with Deputy Shayne Rousseau's vehicle, according to a sheriff’s office report.

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Reyes was arrested for driving without a driver’s license and failing to use a designated lane.
